Daniel is a graduate student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his B.S. in aerospace engineering from the University of Illinois in May 2020. His research is on flight mechanics for entry vehicles with articulating aerodynamic flaps. In particular, he is currently studying the aerodynamic control authority and range capability associated with different configurations of hypersonic flaps. Daniel has been highly interested in all aspects of space exploration since an early age. In his free time he enjoys training and competing with the Illinois Track/Cross Country Club and flying Cessna 172 aircraft.
